General Questions

Getting started is as simple as connecting with your Xero account, connecting with your payment gateway, and configuring your contacts.

Paycycle is ideal if you have an SME and
want to cut down on your admin while increasing your cash flow.

Paycycle is not ideal for:

  • businesses such as gambling, that experience high levels of chargebacks
  • e-commerce stores where fast dispatch or deliver is expected, because debit orders or e-cheque payments may take up to 5 days to clear to your bank account. However, one can limit the payment options, forcing clients to pay by credit or debit card to reduce clearing time, but card payments carry a higher transaction cost than debit order or e-cheques

Yes, you either need an existing account or you can apply to one of our gateways.

No, your subscription cost does not include the transaction cost charged by the payment gateway.

Currently, we support Xero, but we will add more accounting systems soon.

Currently, we support Stripe, but we will add more payment gateways soon.

Paycycle does not create invoices, it is not a billing engine. It uses your current accounting system’s invoice information either created by the accounting system or a third party billing system that integrates with your accounting system.

Paycycle does not hold any money; your account is directly linked with your own payment gateway account.

Debit order payments usually have the lowest fees of any payment system besides cash. It could be as much as 5% – 20% lower than the transaction cost on a credit card. However, debit orders doesn’t guarantee that the funds are available when the client pays you, and the funds may take longer to clear.

Your personal information and your card details and those of your customers are never stored on the system. The information is tokenised and complies with the guidelines set out by the Payment Card Industry (PCI-DSS)

Your clients need not worry about unauthorised transactions. They will be notified of any transactions debited from their account, and can dispute and reverse payments for up to 180 days for card payments after the transaction has occurred.
